Now I can already tell I will not gain favor with a good portion of the internet for this one but it is my opinion as a writer so gosh darn it I’ll say it. I, like many others, decided to try out Respawn Entertainments latest game Apex Legends and I have to say I hate the trend of every AAA including a Battle Royal mode but in this instance, I actually enjoyed my experience playing. The game feels a little out of balance at times, nothing that can’t be fixed with a few updates, but the game attempts to be as fair in that balance as possible such as making team revives possible but still requiring some skill, and luck. When is enough bloody fighting games enough? Well, we aren’t there yet because Mortal Kombat is back and just as bloody and lore confusing as ever. With the latest reveal of classic (or Klassic if you’re a nerd like myself) character Jade, I figured it would be a good time to check in and see who all will be on the latest MK roster and how they all fit in with the story. In a surprising turn of events, MK X was not nearly as brutal in terms of killing story characters as its predecessor Mortal Kombat (Technically the 9th game in the series). On one hand, the gameplay is amazingly fun, wonderfully customizable and as over the top and action packed as a kid that grew up with the franchise could hope for. Everyone and their mom is playing and loving Kingdom Hearts 3, and as an avid KH fan, I personally love not only the hype but also the game itself! Sadly though this isn’t just another review of the game, it’s more of a deconstruction of the new parts than of the game as a whole. A look into what bits and pieces of other Square Enix titles made it into the new smash hit. Easily the biggest, most noticeable, and at the very least to me, most surprising is the cooking.
