World of Warcraft Classic is out now and it’s garnering a massive audience. With that in mind, people from all corners of the MMO community are leaping to their PCs and learning how to play the WoW game that started it all.
If you want to make it to the game’s end content, then you are going to have to level your character to level 60. This will take time and patience. However, it can be done. Check out these five quick tips to leveling your character to make the journey a little easier.
It is important that you always log out of World of Warcraft from either an inn or a nearby city. Sure, these locations are nice respites from the outside dangers of the world. But, logging out from these spots will also grant you a hefty bonus.
Logging out from within an inn or city will grant you a rested bonus to your experience. Consequently, you will accumulate a bonus myriad of experience from simply logging out.
It is always a struggle deciding if you want to play WoW solo or with friends. After all, your experience gained will be split and shared among your party if you play with others.
Consequently, playing will friends may seem less efficient on paper. However, it is much more fun.
If you have a group to play with, consider giving it a shot. Yes, you will gain less experience per kill. However, you will also be able to more quickly blast through quests and tough hoards of enemies when playing as a group.
Beyond that, you may eventually burn out if you are playing alone. Playing with a group will keep things interesting while you all fight your way to level 60.
This may not be the best option for all players, but it is certainly worth giving a shot. If you are in need of a group, check out Reddit’s Wow Community thread here.
There are several zones within each major area of World of Warcraft. Each of these zones is designed to best service players at specific levels. Consequently, you are going to want to make sure you don’t spend too much time in areas designed for lower level players than yourself. Check out the graph below for some examples.
Level 1-20 | Level 21-40 | Level 41-60 |
Durotar, Dun Morogh, Mulgore, Elwyn Forest, Teldrassil, Darkshore, Tirisfal Glades | Ashenvale, Hillsbrad Foothills, Thousand Needles, Wetlands Descolace, | Tanaris, Azshara, Silithus, Deadwind Pass, Blasted Lands |
If you are leveling with a party, then you are going to want to make sure your group is synergizing by using an effective party composition. Luckily, you have options.
The first option is to focus on your melee damage. In order to make this an effective tactic, you will need to apply as much area of effect damage as you can. Consequently, rogues will not play a huge part in your party composition.
Rater, try playing with at least a single paladin and a single priest. The paladin can tank and aggro enemies for the group while the priest buffs and heals the party. In order for your party composition to function well, your two most effective players will want to take these roles. Then, fill the rest of your party with melee AoE damage dealing warriors. This party composition is brutally effective and efficient.
Another approach is to replace the warriors within your group with mages. These mages can provide AoE damage through spells such as blizzard. This team composition can be deadly if used properly, but also requires a little more finesse than the warrior based composition mentioned earlier.
Modern MMOs tend to emphasize raiding dungeons and questing. That being said, World of Warcraft Classic is all about killing enemies.
Yes, you are going to want to complete your quests. That being said, it is important that you do not ignore every enemy that crosses your path.
You have likely built up a habit of simply avoiding enemies as you make your way through each quest. However, killing every enemy you come across is actually a great source of additional experience in World of Warcraft Classic.
Put yourself ahead of the pack by farming every enemy you find.
