Dragon Ball FighterZ Tier List – 2023

Dragon Ball FighterZ has a stacked roster of both the series’ classic characters and a few new faces. That being said, all of the DBZ characters were not created equally.

The fighting game community is fierce. And, the Dragon Ball FighterZ competitive crowd is certainly no different. If you want to be able to compete with the best, then you are going to need to keep up with the meta by knowing which fighters are performing and which ones need to be left in the proverbial dust.

To that end, we have developed a tier list to help you stay on top of your game. But first, check out our description of the tier list down below.

Tier List Descriptions

  • Tier S — These fighters are dominant. If you want to win, you can never go wrong choosing any of these warriors.
  • Tier A — Powerful, these fighters are popular choices. While not the absolute greatest on the roster, these fighters will often give you a slight edge.
  • Tier B — These fighters are average. While they will not give you an edge in battle, they will not hold you back either.
  • Tier C — These fighters are situational. Some of these heroes are great against certain opponents, while others are simply harder to master than most characters. Either way, these fighters are less common picks.
  • Tier D — These fighters are considered the weakest on the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. Consider choosing another character, unless you have the veteran playing experience required to utilize these warriors.

Dragon Ball FighterZ has a somewhat slanted roster, as a majority of the fighters are not considered evenly balanced. With that in mind, it is important to keep up with the game’s ever evolving meta if you want to stay on top of your game.

We’ve made updates in December to pull together some recent changes in the meta from the past few months.

Hunter Boyce

Hunter Boyce is a writer, which probably seems pretty obvious with "author" prominently displayed. He mostly writes about video games. However, he was previously a mixed martial arts news writer. When not writing about people pelting each other in the face or about leveling up in the latest RPG, he tends to spend his time as a web producer in Atlanta. You can shout all of your MMA and video game related quandaries at him at @SomthinClever on Twitter. Feel free to make your demands to him in ALL CAPS. He loves that.
