How to Evolve Pokémon in Pokémon Masters

The new pocket monster mobile game Pokémon Masters is here to stay. The new game offers some new ideas on Pokémon evolution, making it a fascinating new iteration on the longstanding series. That being said, learning how to evolve your pocket monsters in Pokémon Masters can be a little tasking. Luckily, we have the answers you need.

Can All Pokémon Evolve in Pokémon Masters?

Just like with every notable Pokémon game before it, evolution is a large part of Pokémon Masters. That being said, evolution does not work exactly the same as it has in previous Pokémon titles.

For starters, not all Pokémon can evolve. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be an efficient way to identify which Pokémon can evolve and which ones cannot. Consequently, it will take some trial and error.

However, there are reports that any Pokémon found outside of their first stage forms are unable to evolve further. As a result, you will have to exclusively recruit first stage Pokémon if you wish to find pocket monsters you can evolve.

If you wish to try to evolve your Pokémon, then you are going to have to follow a few steps.

How Can Pokémon Evolve in Pokémon Masters?

Evolution in Pokémon Masters is not quite as complex as it has been in previous games. For instance, you no longer need to worry about environmental conditions. You will no longer need evolution stones or to evolve your pokemon at a particular time of day.

Rather, you will first need to level your Pokémon’s sync pair to 30. Once this happens, a special battle will be unlocked. To partake in the battle, you will first need to father five evolution shards.

These shards can be purchased from Tricia’s Shop. However, choose which Pokémon you wish to evolve wisely.

These shards will cost significantly more every time you purchase a set. Consequently, you will want to prioritize which Pokémon you plan to evolve.

Before you have your shards, take some time to level your Pokémon past level 30. The special battle is quite difficult, so you will need to be prepared for anything.

Once you win the battle, your Pokémon will evolve. Next, get your Pokémon to level 45 to begin the evolution process all over again. Of course, your work is not quite done yet. There are still mega evolutions to pursue.

How Can Pokémon Mega Evolve in Pokémon Masters?

As mentioned before, not every Pokémon can evolve in Pokémon Masters. Following that same logic, only some Pokémon can mega evolve. Still, mega evolution is definitely worth spending some time to understand.

A mega evolution allows your unevolved Pokémon the ability to temporarily take on a more powerful form. A select few Pokémon in Pokémon Masters will activate their mega evolutions whenever their Sync Moves are activated.

As provided by androidauthority.com, a list of every currently known Pokémon capable of undertaking a mega evolution can be seen below.

  • Agatha and Mega Gengar
  • Blue and Mega Pidgeot
  • Bugsy and Mega Beedrill
  • Karen and Mega Houndoom
  • Korrina and Mega Lucario
  • Noland and Mega Pinsir

Hunter Boyce is a writer, which probably seems pretty obvious with "author" prominently displayed. He mostly writes about video games. However, he was previously a mixed martial arts news writer. When not writing about people pelting each other in the face or about leveling up in the latest RPG, he tends to spend his time as a web producer in Atlanta. You can shout all of your MMA and video game related quandaries at him at @SomthinClever on Twitter. Feel free to make your demands to him in ALL CAPS. He loves that.
