How to Unlock the Dancer and Gunbreaker Jobs in Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers

Shadowbringers, the latest expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, is out now. With the new patch, the creative team behind the highly popular game has added in two new jobs.

The Dancer and the Gunbreaker are now available for players looking to add something new to their gameplay. That being said, you will need to do a few things first if you want to try out either of these new jobs.

How to Unlock the Dancer Job

The Dancer is the new ranged DPC class. The character uses bladed chakrams to attack their enemies while using rhythmic dances to buff their actions. The class offers a series of useful abilities and traits, which can be viewed here.

In order to unlock the Dancer job, you will have to first reach level 60 in a single pre-existing job. After that, you must complete a quest.

You will need to complete the quest “Shall We Dance” in order to unlock the job. The quest can be located within the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks close to the Aetheryte plaza. The exact coordinates are X: 9.8, Y: 12.0.

The new job is based largely on building procs to boost the character’s attacks and to unlock more powerful abilities.

How to Unlock the Gunbreaker Job

Gunbreaker is the new tank class for Final Fantasy XIV. The class specializes in being able to draw aggro. Thanks to abilities like Demon Slice and Demon Slaughter, the Gunbreaker is also capable of dealing some significant AoE damage when necessary. A breakdown of the Gunbreaker’s abilities can be viewed here

.

Just like with the Dancer quest, you will first need to reach level 60 with a different job before earning this new job class. Then, you will need to complete a new quest.

For the Gunbreaker job, you will need to complete the quest “The Makings Of A Gunbreaker.” This quest is located in New Gridania near Aetheryte. The exact coordinates for the quest are X: 11.5, Y: 11.9.

Hunter Boyce

Hunter Boyce is a writer, which probably seems pretty obvious with "author" prominently displayed. He mostly writes about video games. However, he was previously a mixed martial arts news writer. When not writing about people pelting each other in the face or about leveling up in the latest RPG, he tends to spend his time as a web producer in Atlanta. You can shout all of your MMA and video game related quandaries at him at @SomthinClever on Twitter. Feel free to make your demands to him in ALL CAPS. He loves that.
