Hera Guide
Hera is one of the most dominant mages in SMITE with the capability to control team fights and burst down opponents. During the laning phase, focus on clearing the wave as fast as possible with Hera’s 3, Royal Assault. Use it to gain lane pressure but be careful not to spam it and waste mana. With lane pressure, look to harass your opponent with Hera’s 2, Polymorph. Turn your enemy into a harmless critter and land an Argus slam while they’re defenseless.
Mid is my preferred position for Hera. She has excellent clear, poke damage, and gank setup using crowd control. As a support, Hera pairs well with high-pressure hunters like Anhur or AMC. In team fights, flank the enemy team from behind and cut off their escape route with Argus. Place him in the middle of combat and most enemies will panic, allowing your team to collapse on them.
Using Hera’s abilities effectively is essential. Her 1, Divine Shroud, grants protections. Use it before engaging or after taking damage. Her 2, Polymorph, should be used offensively early to secure kills in lane or defensively in team fights to peel for teammates. Shutting down an enemy damage dealer with Polymorph disrupts their DPS. Hera’s 3, Royal Assault, clears waves and deals poke damage. In team fights, use it to burst squishy targets or soften the whole team. And Argus, her ultimate, should be dropped on enemy damage dealers in team fights to force relics or get kills. Argus can also tank objectives like the Gold Fury or towers.
Hera functions as a backline mage, focusing on high damage and controlling team fights. Peel for allies with Polymorph and dive the enemy backline with Argus when possible. Work with your support or jungler to get kills in lane and ganks.
The key to mastering Hera is learning how and when to use each ability and maintain proper positioning. While her kit is straightforward, using each skill effectively in different situations separates average Hera players from pros. Put in practice to learn how the best Hera’s dominate and you’ll soon be securing objectives and carrying team fights.
To maximize Hera’s potential, focus on outplaying your opponent in the laning phase. Look for opportunities to poke with Polymorph and follow up with Argus slams while clearing waves fast with Royal Assault. Hera can adapt to any team composition by choosing between a damage-focused mid lane role or a crowd control-oriented support position. In team fights, cut off enemy escape routes with Argus, peel for allies with Polymorph, and burst squishy targets with Royal Assault. Work closely with your Jungler and Support to get early leads and snowball into the late game. An experienced Hera is a force to be reckoned with, able to single-handedly turn the tide of battle in her favor.
