Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice Opens Pre-Registration – Prepare for Cold Survival!

The harsh, frozen world of Frostpunk is about to chill your phone screen to its core with the upcoming mobile release of Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice. Com2uS has officially announced that pre-registration is now live for this highly anticipated survival city-builder. Fans can secure their spot to receive early access goodies by signing up through the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.

Be sure to check out our Frostpunk 2 Review for some frozen fun on PC.

If this is your first time hearing about it, Frostpunk is all about survival in a frozen post-apocalyptic world. You’re tasked with leading a city of desperate survivors in their battle against the brutal cold, where every decision matters. This mobile version takes that same soul-crushingly difficult (in a good way!) gameplay from the original PC hit and brings it to a new platform, aiming to appeal to both seasoned Frostpunk veterans and newcomers alike.

Pre-Registration Bonuses

Early birds will get some pretty sweet bonuses (yes, in a game that’s all about freezing to death—don’t think too hard about that). By pre-registering, players will secure exclusive in-game items that are bound to come in handy when you’re scrambling to keep your citizens alive. While Com2uS hasn’t dished out the details on exactly what these items are yet, expect some helpful resources or boosts to kickstart your icy journey.

You can pre-register right now through these links:

New Frostpunk Experience On The Go

If you’ve already tasted the frostbite from the original Frostpunk on PC or console, you probably know what’s coming: gut-wrenching decisions, moral dilemmas, and balancing the survival of your people against the never-ending onslaught of cold. But Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice isn’t just a port; it’s built specifically for the mobile experience. Com2uS has reportedly tweaked the game to be more accessible for on-the-go gaming while remaining faithful to the brutal core concepts at the heart of Frostpunk.

We’re curious to see how those touch controls handle the complex city management and decision-making players are used to, but it’s definitely enticing to imagine strategizing how to keep your people warm and fed during a quick break at work (while avoiding the even harsher boss you have in real life).

Tips for First-Time Frostpunk Players

If you’ve never played Frostpunk before, here are a few quick tips to help you survive your first cold spell when Beyond the Ice drops:

  1. Keep an eye on resources.
Coal, wood, and steel are your lifeblood. Without coal, your generator shuts down, and when the generator goes cold, people freeze. No pressure, though.
  2. Temperature is everything. Keep your buildings within range of heat zones. Houses right next to the generator will fare better than those on the outskirts, and upgrading heat levels can give you a much-needed buffer when things get icy.
  3. Moral choices are never easy. You’ll face decisions like child labor vs. shelters for the young, or whether to establish a city watch or a creepy propaganda center to keep people in line. No matter what you choose, someone loses. How much are you willing to sacrifice to survive?
  4. Explore the Frostland. Sending out scouts to explore distant locations can yield valuable resources. Every decision made out there has a ripple effect on your society.

What’s Next?

There’s no confirmed release date yet, but with pre-registration open, the cold winds of release can’t be too far off. So keep your gloves close and your decisions closer. Survival in Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice is not going to be a walk in the park – but then again, there are no parks. Just cold, bleak tundra, and the desperate struggle to light a fire in the middle of it.

Make sure you snag your pre-registration rewards and start mentally preparing for the challenges ahead. Want to see more? Definitely check out official updates and announcements on their website here.

Will you rise to the challenge in the frozen wastes, or will the cold claim your city?
