It’s hard to get the point across with a single game, even with two what you are trying to say can get lost in everything that you are trying to do. The third game is what gives your gaming audience the time to digest what you want them to see which in this situation it is the kind of games you want to make. With the release of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice we can finally see what kind of games that we can continue to expect out of From Software, historically inspired, dark, and difficult RPGs. First, let’s look at what exactly the first “Souls” games were and how they laid the foundation for what this game pattern that I’m talking about. Demon Souls is a medieval inspired RPG that pits you against, well obviously, demons of all varying shapes and sizes that make staying alive more than a little…

A 353 page Google Document outlines a wild theory about Kingdom Heart’s III occurring in an alternate dream universe. While the 353 pages aren’t all text and it does have a lot of pictures, the theory is very through in going over how this happens, the exact point in the timeline it occurs and showing a myriad of Easter eggs to back up the plot. If you want to dive into the Google Doc you can or follow along with us as we go over a rough outline of the theory. Since the Kingdom Hearts III Ultimania spoilers are now out, I feel like this theory is going to be more or less debunked and we will actually start off with that below. Serious spoilers moving forward: The theory proposes that towards the end of KH3, when the entire party wipes to the Demon Tide and Sora goes to the…

So I have a question, what would you do if I said I knew about one of the best indie games of all time, that was a beautifully crafted metroidvania style game with deep lore, charming characters and made you never want to stop playing it? You would probably scream at me “WHAT IS IT, TELL ME?!?!?!?” and after I managed to calm you down I would point you to Hollow Knight and its upcoming sequel Silksong. I am not kidding when I say that as a whole game there is absolutely nothing that I dislike about this game, from the developers to the DLC to the support from the community hell, even getting the images for this article was easier than every other game I have ever had to do this with. By the way thank you Team Cherry for making that press kit and making it actually super…

Everyone has that one underrated game from their childhood that always brings back those nostalgic memories of simpler and more innocent times. The problem is that most of the time you realize that you only thought those games were great was because you were seeing them through rose-colored glasses and if you actually went back and played them you would realize how they weren’t underrated but just honestly not that good. Luckily Titanfall 2 is definitely not one of those cases even if it wasn’t exactly from anyone’s childhood per se. Significant portions of the internet were singing the praises of Titanfall 2 even in the midst of being buried by the more popular title Battlefield One that not only released one week earlier but was also published by EA which essentially means the EA undermined their own game. Cool. Thanks again EA…… Dicks. However not only did the game…

When is enough bloody fighting games enough? Well, we aren’t there yet because Mortal Kombat is back and just as bloody and lore confusing as ever. With the latest reveal of classic (or Klassic if you’re a nerd like myself) character Jade, I figured it would be a good time to check in and see who all will be on the latest MK roster and how they all fit in with the story. In a surprising turn of events, MK X was not nearly as brutal in terms of killing story characters as its predecessor Mortal Kombat (Technically the 9th game in the series). Probably because it forced the devs to change up the roster for the next game and quite a few characters are returning in MK11. Scorpion and Sub-Zero were virtually guaranteed to return they brought along some classic and some newer characters that managed to survive this…

Data miners have ripped out Imperius’ (no one has has the plural figured out yet) voice lines and they’re awesome. You can listen to them over at the Heroes of the Storm Wiki, but they really shine. Heroes of the Storm is one of the few outlets we get to dive deeper into some of the character’s personal stories and with Imperius we get a lot. His disdain for mortals and the Nephalem (Diablo III’s player character) is well observed. One thing that gets me is he says “Your kind are an abomination!” to Diablo II player character heroes (like Xul). This is interesting to me because we know that Diablo I’s player characters were basically villains in Diablo II (Blood Raven, The Summoner and Spoiler: Diablo). They weren’t assigned on any special quest or notable outside of the fact the three of them went and slayed Diablo. In Diablo…

Not a lot is known about Heroes of the Storm’s next champion, other than he’s from Diablo 3 and was heavily featured in the expansion. We first met Imperius back in 2011’s Blizzcon, where the above concept art was introduced. It’s interesting that they’re moving for an Angel from Diablo 3 when we already have Auriel and Malthael. Andariel is a pretty popular request as she was the only female Evil until Diablo 3’s Diablo went and got a sex change. Of course, Imperius is a fan favorite too so this isn’t a giant upset. It’s just interesting that they’re expanding Heroes with more angels on the heels of announcing the reorganization of the Heroes of the Storm support team. Since we don’t know much about his abilities until January 2nd, let’s talk a little about who he is. Imperius is the archangel of Valor. He’s basically the greatest warrior…

Bethesda recently announced that they will be giving gamers a free copy of both Fallout 1 & 2, along with Fallout Tactics, as an extra bonus for all of the problems and issues that gamers have ran into. Normally, such giveaways are just a bribe, but in this instance, I actually like the gesture. It’s nice that gamers are able to get something extra with a game they purchased and for the problems they’ve experienced. What’s even nicer, the free software is actually something that most gamers won’t even think of or consider. Fallout 3 was the third main Fallout game, a huge departure from Fallout 1 & 2 which were top down ARPGs. Back when Fallout 3 came out, Fallout 1 & 2 were still popular games because it was 2008, ten years since the release of Fallout 2. It has now been ten years since Fallout 3 and…
