Unravel the mysteries of “Alan Wake 2” as we delve into its new ending, exploring game lore and connections to “Control” and other universes.
Pixel Cafe has a smooth lo-fi vibe with some of the best music I’ve heard this year. Released early October, we finally got a chance to sit down with what can be considered revolutionary in its own genre. You’ve got gorgeous pixel-art style beats, a soundtrack that kicks off from the start and doesn’t stop and a hypnotic gameplay loop that’s as mediative or brow-sweating as you want it to be. Quick note: The developers have been active in updating the game. A mid-December 2023 update introduced difficulty modes, giving the game more depth from the challenging kitchen manager that it was to a zen like rhythm game to the challenging kitchen manager that many loved as is. Let’s dig into what separates this game from others. Running the Pixel Cafe The game starts off with a cup and a coffee machine and simple instructions. The game’s complexities slowly unveil…
House Flipper 2 really elevates the iconic formula that House Flipper brought about and renovates the game from top to bottom. The biggest change comes in the form of the graphics. Whereas House Flipper originally looked more like a source engine game (now compared to the new edition), House Flipper 2 looks like a slick modern title really taking a large shine to cleaning virtual homes and laying down virtual flooring. Those tasks get elevated as well with extra polish. Everything from painting to placing items is tighter and with more controls. The leveling system is easier and the upgrades dramatically change your overall gameplay. Compared to the original there is so much more content too. A lot of different house designs and way more in terms of features to renovate. Freedom is something that House Flipper 2 gives you when it comes to doing missions and flipping houses. Not…
Slay the Princess is a visual novel game that has taken some time to develop. It has had three major releases so far. The first which was strictly chapter 1. The second demo was chapter 1 and chapter 2. The full release of the game includes chapter 3 and the various endings in the game. In our guide we go over the story and various endings in this deep psychological visual novel that has a lot to think on and over 15 hours of content, all voice acted. It’s a mix of The Stanely Parable and every one of your favorite visual novel games, really. In a recent “End of Everything” update, some changes were made. We’ve reflected those below. Without further explanation, here’s our story and endings explained: Story Explained The game has multiple routes and paths that you can take, each one resulting in a different ending. No…
Legends of Idleon has somehow achieved an interesting status as a game that the community dislikes, across the official channels (which are moderated out) and the sub-communities. The developer, LavaFlame2, has mostly gone silent with little content since the release of companions with a high emphasis on events and quality of life updates. Understanding the Companion Update We’ve previously covered the companion update and LavaFlame2’s response that it’s a marketing ploy. The community still, since June 17th, has remained stagnant and in a constant state of burnout. The updates aren’t met with much excitement since Doot remains the critical “need” to get to the top of the leaderboards, get the most everything, do all the things quickly, etc. It’s still at a point of why use any candy if you don’t have Doot? The community remains completely openly hostile to the developer, and has increased monetization through not only the…
Inkulinati is imaginative, playful and strategic as it builds on colorful ancient memes to provide a strategy puzzler that has the most artistic vibe of any game we’ve seen in awhile. While the art isn’t uniquely rendered, gorgeously deep or unique in any way beyond its ability to While in early access, Inkulinati has impressed us since launch with how beautiful the art is brought to life and the artistic style of how the game plays out. There’s a lot to like here and the early access game is on PC Game Pass (as of this early review) so definitely worth a look there if anything in this review interests you. This review is of the early access version, update 3 (late August 2023). Art to Life The fun of the game is the art style. The characters are all drawn beautifully with rich color and really respect the roots…
Adore’s combat is groundbreaking, intuitive and different from creature summoning games that have been needed for a long time. The latest update and full release have shown a polished strategic pet summoning game that has ARPG elements, rogue-like elements and something different than turn-based pet combat. If you’re big into pet games, you shouldn’t take my word for it and head on over to the Adore steam page to start checking the game out yourself – we recommend it. You summon a team of four creatures who fight for you. Your main character can’t actually engage in battle directly, only dodge and you don’t have absolute control over your summons. You’ve got to involve a lot of strategy and tactics to get through combat and what appears to be simple gameplay unravels as you move deeper into the game. If you played the game early in early access, you will…
For those in our Discord, we have a community Minecraft server that is available for everyone to play on. I recently noticed when I was near my redstone builds and players were all in different areas of the game that the server became a bit laggy, even though the server specifications are well above what is required for a lag free experience. I went online to try and find some optimization guides but it seems that a lot of them were dated. Paper is already highly optimized, but there’s actually a few settings you need to change to make Paper run really well for you. The Critical Optimizations for Paper The first one is going to be going to your paper-world-defaults.yml and going to find: you’ll want to change that to: There’s another engine you can use called eigencraft. You can use that as well. Looking at the two, alternate-current…
The 1.20 update has added beautiful cherry blossom trees to Minecraft. On our community server we love them and have got them planted everywhere. They’re a bit tricky to find, but we’ve got the details on how to locate the Cherry Blossom Biome. Locating the Biome Without Console Commands If you’re just on standard Minecraft and aren’t using console commands, there isn’t going to be a real “trick” to finding the Cherry Blossom Biome. It often spawns where meadows would, near the base of a mountain, which means you can find emerald ore underneath the biome. If you’re in creative mode you can simply fly in a single direction and keep going until you locate the biome. You’ll notice them by the distinct pink leaves and lime green ground. Locating the Biome with Console Commands If you have proper server permissions or are playing creative yourself, you can simply use:…
We’re proud to announce that Gaming Tier List has launched with new branding and a brand-new logo to refresh the site’s branding and our commitment to the best news and guides for video games. In our previous logo, the colors followed the rainbow which placed red first. The best tier out there, S+, is not red. It is followed with orange, yellow, green then teal which is completely out of order. The name Gaming Tier List is shadowed and can be kind of hard to read. The logo’s age shows artifacting when pulled up on the latest mobile devices. That’s when we’ve engaged creative talent and launched our latest logo. Understanding Our Brand We’re a forward-thinking organization and our logo should highlight our diversity. We’ve kept the rainbow of colors, but properly aligned them to really define what a tier list is. Additionally, the horizontal boxes are now vertical with…
