Feeling overwhelmed? Start here.
Baptiste has a lot to set him apart from the other support heroes of Overwatch, and with a high learning curve, he can be a bit difficult to pick up. If you struggle at first, don’t feel bad. Baptiste is new to everyone, and we’re all learning. With that said, let’s go over the latest hero’s abilities and quirks, and discuss what you can do to give yourself a competitive edge. Baptiste Hero Overview Baptiste is a support hero unlike any other. His main weapon, the Biotic Launcher, is a three-round burst hitscan rifle (primary fire) that doubles as a healing grenade launcher (alternate fire). His three-round burst is most effective at short to medium range, while his healing grenades can be lobbed quite a distance away to help teammates in need. Baptiste’s first ability is Regenerative Burst, which immediately begins healing himself and nearby allies over a short time.…
A new month means new free games on offer if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber. Unfortunately, this news only applies to PS4 owners, as Sony recently stopped giving out free PS3 and Vita games as part of the PS Plus package. It’s an understandable move, but still a disappointing one as a fan of both systems. Nevertheless, here are the two PS4 games available for download starting April 2nd. The Surge From the creators of Lords of the Fallen comes The Surge, another Souls-like experience with a more unique setting, at least for the genre. Those who have played Lords will feel right at home, but developer Deck13 Interactive has implemented some new systems to help differentiate this game from its spiritual predecessor. Players are given a mech suit they can customize with various upgrades that will improve combat performance or defensive capabilities, for example. You’re also given the option…
Have you ever had that one person that always stole the spotlight from everyone else? That one kid in class that was smart, popular, would always speak the loudest and be the first to answer the teachers’ question? Or have you ever felt like you weren’t the favorite child and your parents would pass you over in favor of the other kid? Well, now you know how it feels to be a Keyblade in any Kingdom Hearts game. The Ultima weapon has always been….. well the ultimate weapon, while there are other Keyblades that have better strength or magic the Ultima is always the perfect mix of the two. So in an effort to help out all of the quiet kids of the world I am making a Keyblade tier list specifically without any of the Ultima weapons. I will preface this by saying that these are from the “.5″…
One of the things that has always made the Metro video game series so interesting is its growing arsenal of fascinating weapons. From stealthy crossbows to rampaging machine guns, the franchise has always featured fun tools for players to use. Following the latest title within the series, things are certainly no different. Now we can delve deep into the weapons system of the recent Metro Exodus to see what kind of incredible arsenal fans can play with. Metro Exodus hit shelves back in Feb., now playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The game received largely positive critical reviews, ultimately earning an 83 Metacritic score on PC. Having reportedly had a strong first month of sales, Metro Exodus is tunneling its way into living rooms worldwide. A follow up to Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, Metro Exodus is the latest in a trilogy of games that are…
Not every game has to be revolutionary, not every game has to redefine a genre, and not every game has to completely blow you away with graphics and even if a game doesn’t do any of these things it can still be a good game, which is exactly what Crackdown 3 does. The only way that Crackdown 3 would seem revolutionary is if you sealed yourself away after the development of the original Crackdown and said “Don’t let me out until they make another good Crackdown game.” and were only just now released. While it may seem like I am too harsh I don’t mean all of this in a negative way, a problem that many games have in today is not building a solid foundation to their games and letting the “marketable” features get away from them like graphics, over the top changes to solid ideas, and things like…
If at all you’re unfamiliar with the term “gameplay loop” basically have you ever played a game for a while and then just realized that after sinking hours and hours into this game that the game essentially boiled down to the same few minutes to an hour of gameplay repeated over and over again? Yea that’s the basic concept. We’ve all been through it, whether or not it is a deal breaker is up to you. Some would argue that every game is that at the most basic levels, those people would be half right but today let me focus on the single player games and at the more positive ones, the games that made us not think about it until we were already invested or until long after that. I’ll be completely honest and say what inspired me to write this is that I recently beat Crackdown 3, and…
So I have a problem with Apex Legends. The game has a severe learning curve and is extremely difficult to pick up at first. I have a few matches under my belt now, and by matches I mean surviving for a brief moment until I get killed by someone who actually knows what they’re doing. So my problem with Apex Legends is this: why is there no solo matchmaking at all? As one experienced in the art of team sports, I understand what Apex Legends is doing and I appreciate their idea of promoting the team over the individual. However, I find it hard to be able to experiment with the game and get comfortable with it when I have a team that is relying on me at all times. As someone who is currently not very skilled at the game, I would like a mode that would let me…
Having garnered over 25 million players within just a week of its release, Apex Legends is growing to a massive size. With the game having already passed its first month and with millions of concurrent players battling it out at any given moment, jumping into this gigantic battle royale can easily seem intimidating. But, don’t worry. We have you covered. Apex Legends was released on Feb. 4, 2019. Free-to-play, the battle royale game is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The game has earned largely positive reviews, having garnered a total 88 Metacritic score on PC. While the game is highly popular, the experience can seem intimidating at first. There are a series of classes to choose from before you even pick up a gun. Beyond that, the title features a sprawling map filled with highly skilled players that have been honing their craft of killing newcomers…
Ah, yes: that classic moment in games when you have to make that first important decision for your character, affecting how you’re going to play the game from there. Decisions can be stressful if you’re not sure which way to go — we’ve all had that existential crisis choosing between two flavors of ice cream (what, you haven’t? No, you have, everyone has. Me having a personal crisis over ice cream is normal, okay?). In Bioware’s Anthem, the first important choice you have to make is which Javelin you will choose to play as. Don’t worry — you’ll be able to suit up and play as all the Javelins by the time you reach the end of the game. But once you choose your first one, you’re going to be locked into it for a fair bit of time as you progress, so you’ll want to make the choice that’s…
