DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO Strongest Characters Tier List

In Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, character strength isn’t just about raw power; it’s also about versatility, special abilities, and how well they perform in different situations. With characters spanning the entire Dragon Ball universe, things can get a little overwhelming, but don’t worry—we’ve broken it down to make things easier. Here’s a tier list of the strongest characters based on early discussions from the community and what we know from previous games in the Sparking! series.

S-Tier (Absolute Powerhouses)

These characters dominate both in raw stats and utility. They have powerful movesets, fast recovery times, and can crush most opponents with ease. If you’re looking to steamroll the competition, pick from this list.

1. Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta

Gogeta is an absolute beast in this game. His speed, overwhelming power, and devastating supers make him nearly unbeatable. His ability to chain combos and his insane damage output give him the edge in almost any matchup. Plus, his ki management is top-notch, letting him spam powerful attacks without too many drawbacks.

2. Ultra Instinct Goku

Ultra Instinct Goku is all about reflexes and dodging. His unique ability to auto-dodge most attacks makes him a nightmare to deal with. Combine that with his high damage output and fast recovery, and you’ve got a character that can turn the tide of battle in an instant. Even though he’s a bit harder to master, once you get the hang of him, he’s nearly unstoppable.

3. Beerus

Beerus brings a combination of destructive energy attacks and fast melee combos. He’s one of the few characters who can easily break through defensive playstyles, thanks to his ability to nullify ki blasts and his powerful sphere of destruction. His overall versatility and damage make him a top contender.

A-Tier (Formidable Fighters)

These characters are still incredibly strong but may have small weaknesses or require more skill to fully unlock their potential. They can dominate most matchups but may struggle against S-tier characters.

1. Jiren

Jiren’s raw power and defensive capabilities make him a top-tier pick. He excels in close-range combat, and his counters can punish overly aggressive players. However, his slower speed compared to characters like Gogeta and Ultra Instinct Goku keeps him from the absolute top spot.

2. Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta

SSJ4 Vegeta offers a great balance of offense and defense. His moveset gives him excellent range, and his ki attacks pack a punch. He’s not as fast as the S-tier fighters, but his durability and damage output make him one of the better choices for players who prefer a more methodical approach.

3. Vegito (Super Saiyan Blue)

Vegito is similar to Gogeta but slightly less versatile. He has great combo potential and solid ki attacks, but his moves tend to leave him more vulnerable than some of the top-tier characters. Still, his sheer damage output and reach keep him competitive in almost any situation.

B-Tier (Solid Picks)

B-tier characters aren’t bad by any means, but they can struggle in certain matchups or require specific strategies to shine. These characters are still viable, but they might not be as consistent as the higher tiers.

1. Gohan (Mystic Form)

Mystic Gohan is a very balanced character. He has good range, decent speed, and solid damage. However, he lacks the overwhelming power or unique abilities that define the top-tier characters. Still, in the right hands, he can be a force to be reckoned with.

2. Golden Frieza

Golden Frieza is fast and has excellent ki attacks, but his defense is lacking compared to other characters. He can dish out a lot of damage, but if you’re caught off guard, he can be taken down quickly. Timing and spacing are key to succeeding with Frieza, which makes him more of a high-risk, high-reward pick.

3. Majin Buu (Buuhan)

Buuhan is a tanky character with great zoning abilities. His moves can control the battlefield, and he can take a lot of punishment. However, his slow speed makes him vulnerable to faster characters like Gogeta or Ultra Instinct Goku. He shines in longer, drawn-out fights where he can wear opponents down.

C-Tier (Situational Fighters)

C-tier characters have some strengths, but they often have glaring weaknesses or niche playstyles that limit their effectiveness. They can work in specific situations but generally struggle against higher-tier picks.

1. Kid Buu

Kid Buu is fast and has decent damage, but he lacks the versatility and utility of the higher-tier characters. His combos are good, but his short range and limited ki management make him harder to use effectively. He’s still fun to play, but don’t expect to dominate tournaments with him.

2. Android 17 (Super)

Android 17 has some good defensive capabilities and energy barriers, but his damage output is on the lower side. He can stall out a battle, but unless you can capitalize on openings, you may struggle to finish off opponents quickly. He’s a solid support fighter but doesn’t shine as a main.

3. Broly (Dragon Ball Super)

While Broly has massive damage potential, his slow speed and large hitbox make him an easy target for faster characters. If you can close the gap and land some heavy hits, you’ll do well, but keeping up with faster fighters can be a challenge.

D-Tier (Needs Help)

These characters are not completely unusable, but they’re generally outclassed in most matchups. They might have a cool moveset or some fun abilities, but they’re tough to win with consistently.

1. Yamcha

Yamcha is fast, but he’s just too weak compared to everyone else on the roster. His moves are fun, and you can definitely catch people off guard, but in most serious matches, he’s going to struggle.

2. Hercule (Mr. Satan)

Hercule is a joke character, and it shows. He has almost no damage and relies on gimmicks to win. While it’s hilarious to pull off a win with him, don’t expect him to take you far in competitive play.

3. Raditz

Raditz has a few decent moves, but he’s outclassed in almost every way. His lack of speed, damage, and versatility make him one of the weakest characters in the game.

That wraps up our tier list for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO. Keep in mind that this list is based on early discussions and impressions, so things might shift once more players get their hands on the game. Whether you’re going for the top-tier fighters or sticking with your favorites, there’s plenty of fun to be had!
